Diaconal Ministry

The Diaconate at All Souls exists to serve the church and community by ministering to the concrete, visible needs (social, emotional, physical, financial, and spiritual) of those in crisis.  We do this through both word and deed, in the power and love of the Kingdom of God.

The Diaconate's ministry is focused primarily on meeting acute felt needs in the church and in our community. The primary work of the Diaconate is compassion; the primary mindset is that of a servant, one who understands deeply his/her own sin and the healing balm of the grace of God and can offer the same to another. As servants, our Deacons are always ready to come along side of others - listening, evaluating, praying with them, and seeking to meet tangible needs.

"Bear one another's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ...So then, whenever we have an opportunity, let us work for the good of all, and especially for those of the family of faith." Galatians 6:2,10

Our Deacons desire to serve the church and the community around us in such a way that people are 1) attracted to the beauty of the healing Gospel of Christ, 2) established and grown in faith, 3) healed of their afflictions, and 4) equipped to minister.
